Hi welcome what's up I'm Katie

I am a comedian from Boston, MA.

Katie McCarthy is a Boston-based comedian who will make you delightedly shriek “What?!” She’s peddled her brand of silly-yet-cerebral humor all around the country, impressing audiences at Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, All Jane Comedy Festival, and Women in Comedy Festival.

Starting as a sketch writer and actor, Katie has since tackled stand up; her absurd ruminations on personal experiences, pop culture, and politics quickly made her a favorite of Boston’s legendary Comedy Studio, where she served as their Comic In Residence in January 2016. She co-produced their annual Holiday Show in 2018 and was selected for their Just For Laughs audition showcase in 2019.

Currently, Katie and her partner Nick Ortolani produce Party Cruise, an outrageously goofy variety showcase. She is also a contributing writer for Old School Game Show.

Katie has appeared on Nerdist’s Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction podcast three times (ep. 4254101) and can be seen on SeeSo’s Hidden America for like 2 minutes. From 2013-2016, she was the editor in chief of The Tardy Eagle, the humor section of The Boston Compass. In 2012, The Baffler had her pretend to be Ayn Rand twice. Look, she is not mentioned by name in the Columbia Journalism Review for it, but that doesn't matter. She has performed as a cast member of The Dope Show and Magenta Strike Squad.

In 2007, she was fired after one day from a temp job. She is convinced it is because she called dressage, the art of rich people making horses dance, “silly.”

Katie McCarthy doesn’t get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day or the guarantee of seeing a dog.
